BEI, Integrating Technologies Into Your Home and Office
Home and office applications are merging. The wiring at the right is for a home office that will have nineteen CAT5e data outlets and six telephone outlets. We also install flat screens and audio systems in offices. What's important is not so much the technology, but the selection of wiring schemes that will provide for future growth as new technologies emerge.

Computer Networking
Tired of wireless networking that doesn't work and wires running all over the place? A BEI installation is useful reduces the amount of wire and you will eliminate the stress of sharing computers. With this solution, each computer can share printers and scanners while still allowing each to function independently.

The picture on the right is of a  gigahertz network installed for an internet marketing company. BEI did the backbone wiring and installed the 19" cabinet and switch. It is now ready for the client provided servers.

Computer Wiring
There are four basic types of computer wiring used in the U.S.

  • CAT3 wiring is generally considered telephone wire. It is twisted like CAT5-6 and can be used in10baseT computer networks (its certified at 16MHZ.)
  • CAT5. Now considered obsolete. Generally good for up to 100meter runs of up to 100MHZ.
  • CAT5e (enhanced CAT5). This is the current standard and is considered good for up to 350MHZ. This is the current standard and is the type of wiring used in the home office sample shown above..
  • CAT6 or Gigahertz cable. Despite its name, this wire is NOT certified up to 1000MHZ at 100 meters. It is generally good for 400-550MHZ. .
